Alex Varner
During recent donor outreach and partner collaboration, Alex received strong, consistent feedback highlighting the impact of his work. Similarly, a case manager who works closely with someone Alex supports described him as reliable, responsive, and wonderful to work with, noting his strong communication and ability to stay on top of details. Together, this feedback reflects how valued Alex is by families and professional partners alike, and how his work truly makes a difference.
Alex’s long standing relationships with individuals he supports, some spanning over a decade, reflect his deep commitment to person centered and inclusive support. As a Team Lead, he also mentors and supports fellow staff, helping build confidence, consistency, and an inclusive team culture. Together, this feedback reflects Alex’s strong commitment to Inclusion in both his work and leadership.

True community support is built on consistency, generosity, and a genuine belief in inclusion, and PoppedCorn embodies all three. For years, PoppedCorn has been a dedicated partner to Reach, turning their business into a place where community connection and purpose come together. Through ongoing fundraising partnerships and special Reach Days, they helped transform something as simple as buying popcorn into meaningful support for individuals and families served by Reach.
Sue, PoppedCorn’s owner, wholehearted approach sets her apart. From promoting Reach in her store to warmly welcoming supporters and staff, she consistently goes above and beyond. PoppedCorn’s partnership has helped strengthen Reach’s mission and create a more inclusive community for all.
Lifetime Achievement Award:
Patrick Boley
For many years, Reach for Resources has benefited from the steady leadership, thoughtful counsel, and deep commitment of Patrick Boley. Through his long-standing service as a Board Member and governance leader, Patrick has played an important role in strengthening the organization and ensuring its mission is carried forward with integrity and accountability.
Patrick made significant contributions to governance and board development through his work on the Governance Committee, helping guide policy creation and review with a strong focus on best practices, legal responsibility, and ethical stewardship. He also generously shared his legal insight by reviewing contracts and offering guidance ahead of key decisions, helping protect Reach’s interests and support sound decision-making.
Doris Sloan Rider of the Year:
Gretchen DeVries
In 2025, Gretchen DeVries took an impressive 153 rides through Trail by Reach. As an active participant in several Reach for Resources and Adaptive Recreation & Learning Exchange (AR&LE) programs, she relies on Trail by Reach to stay connected to the activities that matter most to her. For more than 25 years, Gretchen has been part of the Trail community, supporting her ability to live with greater independence, confidence, and joy. The programs she participates in create a steady rhythm of connection and empowerment that enriches her daily life. Congratulations to Gretchen on this well-deserved recognition!
