Volunteer Highlight: Doug
For more than a year and a half, Doug has volunteered with Reach for Resources, providing valuable behind-the-scenes support that allows our staff to focus on serving participants and families. As an office and administrative volunteer, he assists with mailings, spreadsheet projects, CRM updates, brochure preparation, research, labeling, and a variety of other tasks. Doug was drawn to Reach by its mission and the opportunity to use his skills to make a difference. As he shared, “While I do not directly help the people who need assistance, I know that the different services I provide to Reach help enable them to assist people who need help. It gives me satisfaction knowing I am helping.”
Volunteering has been a lifelong passion for Doug. Over the years, he has given his time to his church, scouting programs, youth sports, city projects, and the Animal Humane Society. He enjoys meeting new people, learning about different organizations and causes, and knowing his efforts are making a positive impact. Outside of volunteering, Doug loves to travel. He has visited all 50 states and five continents, with upcoming trips planned to Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. His advice for anyone considering volunteering is simple: find something you enjoy and can see yourself doing long-term. We are grateful for Doug’s dedication, positivity, and the many ways he supports Reach’s mission.
