Bryan has been a long-time Trail rider, depending on this service to reach recreational activities, bowling events, and community outings. For Bryan, staying active and engaged in the activities he enjoys is crucial to his independence. When asked how Trail impacted his life, he shared a simple but meaningful response, “[Trail] helps me go places.”

In 2025, Bryan took 50 rides. While he paid $150, the true cost was $400. This subsidized cost allows our riders to have the most independence possible. 

Your gift of $60 covers the cost of rides for people like Bryan for two months, offering independence and the freedom to do the activities he enjoys.

Filmore

When the pandemic disrupted Filmore’s routine, his family struggled to find programs and opportunities that truly met his needs. Then they discovered TRAIL Transportation, and everything changed.

Filmore’s mom, Kathy, shares, “We think TRAIL is absolutely fabulous. From the reliability to the kindness of every driver, it’s been a wonderful surprise. The ride itself is just as important as the activity he’s going to. He makes friends on the van. It’s become a big part of his life.”

Filmore agrees. “We talk about fun things on the van, about other people and other stuff. We build friendships.”

For Filmore, transportation is more than a ride. It’s a connection to community, friendships, independence, and the activities that bring structure and joy to his life.

This year alone, Filmore took 217 rides through TRAIL. Through our affordable fare program, he paid just $651, while the true cost of providing those rides exceeded $1,700. Thanks to generous supporters, the gap between what riders can afford and what it costs to provide safe, reliable transportation is covered, ensuring people like Filmore can continue accessing the community they love.

Jeff

Meet Jeff, who loves fishing, dancing, cooking, and connecting with his community. Thanks to Trail Transportation, he participates in social, educational, and recreational activities three to four times a week.

Before Trail, Jeff faced boredom and missed opportunities. Now, he enjoys better sleep, more movement, and a higher quality of life. He’s learned new skills, made friends, and gained independence by riding the bus and attending events on his own.

Jeff says, “Trail is really awesome and I really enjoy it! People should not be afraid to ride, the staff are great!”

With outgoing, friendly staff and affordable rides, Trail has helped Jeff reduce anxiety and live his best life. Last year, he took 121 rides, each one a step toward empowerment and joy. The subsidized cost between Jeff’s rate and operational cost was $605. For Jeff to have the freedom to move and go how he pleases, this cost is well worth it. $1,000 would help folks like Jeff have the freedom of transportation for one year!

Gretchen

For more than 25 years, Gretchen has been part of the Trail community, attending ARLE events and staying active through recreation programs in Richfield, Bloomington, and Edina. But Trail has meant more than just transportation.

Her brother Ryne shares, “Trail has helped Gretchen live with greater independence and joy. The activities she participates in aren’t just enjoyable, they create a rhythm of connection and empowerment that enriches her daily life.”

With the support of Trail coordinators, Gretchen enjoys a wide variety of activities that keep her engaged, healthy, and connected. Last year, she took 153 rides, each one a step toward community, confidence, and joy. Your gift of $1,200 sponsors a full year of rides for someone like Gretchen, helping them live with purpose, movement, and happiness.
