Reach for Resources invites members of the community to participate in its annual Bowl-A-Thon, rescheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2020, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. It will take place at Park Tavern Lanes in St. Louis Park (3401 Louisiana Ave. S.). The event is held to raise awareness and funds for Reach for Resources (Reach), whose mission is to support individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness reach their full potential.
Participants can form their own team of 4-6 people or be placed on a team. Each person must collect a total of at least $50 in pledges and donations. (This minimum will be $60 for those registering after March 23.) Pledges and donations are due prior to the event to qualify for bowling and lunch. This is the 28th year of this annual bowling fundraiser. Reach’s Director of Adaptive Recreation Emily Orr says, “This fun event is a great opportunity for those not familiar with Reach to experience what we have to offer, either by participating or volunteering. Get to know some of the awesome individuals we support in a relaxed environment.” Orr mentions that Reach staff members look forward each year to meeting the many new people from the community who come to take part in the Bowl-A-Thon. Bowlers will receive t-shirts, and prizes will be given out for fundraising efforts and for bowling strikes. While all bowlers will receive a prize, some may earn one valued at over $100.
